THE HISTORY OF ISLAM

Part 1

Don't know how to ease into this so, let's get into it.

Now from 0AD to around 622AD, Christianity is spreading all the way through the Middle East over to Northern India and Persia and even to China with the Tang Dynasty. Up into Europe, Britain. Then it jumps over to Ireland [some reasearchers claim that at one point the Ark Of The Covenant was actually in Ireland] this was around the 400's and all of North Africa were Christians. Then in 622AD something happens, ISLAM happens.

I know I'm not the only one who has seen headlines of christians being killed in Nigeria, churches being burned in Europe. The people who do this claim they are doing it in the name of Islam.  Now apologists say that if you're concerned about this, you're guilty of bigotry, spreading a Sharia hoax or conspiracy. They assure us that terrorism does not represent "True Islam", but  the terrorists are often yelling,  "Allahu Akbar"

Well, who can tell us what true Islam is? One person, Mohammed.

MOHAMMED - The Rise

So who is Mohammed? "He's the best Muslim that ever lived." According to Islam. His life is called the "Sunnah" which means "the way" or "the example",  and it went through three stages, and you cannot understand what is going on today unless you understand these three stages. He was a Religious Leader, then a Political Leader, then a Military Leader. So this is how the world was before Mohammed. You have the Byzantine Christian Roman Empire that went all the way through the Middle East and then you have the Persian Empire, that is today Iran. The Byzantine was around 550AD this is roughly 20 years before Mohammed's birth. Now for centuries, these two beat each other up leaving a power vaccum that was occupied by Islam. Save that for later, let's get back to the star of the show.

The life of Mohammed begins when his father dies before he's born, his mother dies when he's six, his grandfather and guardian dies when he's eight, he's orphaned, taken in by an uncle Abu Talib  and He's a merchant who takes Mohammed on camel rides and he hears about different religions. And so one religion was Manichaeism A mani person would say that there's little bits of truth in every religion. And so  Mohammed would have heard about this. And then there's the Persian Zoroastrian religion that  believed paradise was filled full of virgins that would fulfill all the guy's desires.  Mohammed heard this and it got incorporated into his belief system. They also believed in jinns or genies like "1001 Arabian Nights" which is about a king who marries and executes a new bride every morning. That's crazy. And if you are like me and you've watched stuff like Sinbad, Ali Baba e.t.c that's all part of the Arabian Nights. And then the pagans in Arabia had a square building called the Kaaba that housed 360 different pagan gods. [is it me or does this remind you of Paul and his teachings in Acts 17?] And the most popular was Hubal "the moon god." [always wondered where they got that crescent moon sigil from] And their calendar began with the first sight of the crescent moon over the desert. Sound farmiliar?

We continue from here.
